It was built to highlight a new report Arms Without Borders by Control Arms Campaign: Oxfam International, Amnesty International and International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA). It demonstrated how the globalisation of the arms industry has opened up major loopholes in all current arms export regulations, allowing sales to human rights abusers and countries under arms embargoes. | | Helicopter front detail | This shot shows the front engine detail, which is a vac-forming of a Rolls-Royce jet engine turbine with a spun aluminium red painted cone in the centre. The rotor detail consists of 2 aluminium castings & 5 CNC machined aluminium Formula One components. | | Helicopter missile detail | The missile nose cones are a Nylon car suspension guide, which was moulded in silicone & then 8 were cast in Fast Cast resin. Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith* | Blastech custom DT-57 "Annihilator" | Made at Fox studios in Sydney, dressed with an aluminium automotive valve component at the very back of the weapon. The detail above the trigger guard consists of a CNC aluminium Formula One component, a pressed brass round ‘H’ set in a turned brass button. The dressing slung under the barrel is a CNC turned medical grade stainless steel component. | | Electrostaff | Used by the Magna Guards. I am particularly pleased with this prop staff. Apart from the clear cover, it is made almost entirely from Bob’s Bits. Most of the silver coloured parts are CNC turned medical grade stainless steel components. Near the bottom is a ring of turned copper components & towards the top are some turned brass knobs & some long thin turned brass rods pointing down. The balance of the central parts are turned aircraft components. |

All the dressing is Bob’s Bits - pressed steel & pressed aluminium components and 2 countersunk aircraft screws. | | Sith Tracer Beacon | This component didn’t need anything doing to it. It is the hub from a very large hard drive from a mainframe computer. | | Yoda’s Testing Screen | Scratch-built & dressed with Bob’s Bits - the stainless steel disc with holes at the bottom of the handle & the 4 pins angled out from the corners. |
